Coal is a resource that can be obtained through mining coal rocks or concentrated coal rocks in various places around Project Dream. It is one of the most important minable materials in Project Dream.
Coal can be mined with a pickaxe by players with a Mining level of 30 or higher. Players can, however, mine it at a faster rate the higher their Mining level. After being mined, a coal rock takes an average of 42 seconds to respawn.
When mined, coal gives 4050 experience for Extreme Donators, 3038 experience for Premium Donators and 2250 experience for Free to Play players on normal mode.
It can also be bought from Bob at the armory, east of home, for 45 coins.

Coal plays a vital part in smelting most bars on Project Dream.
Steel bars require 2 Coal ores and 1 Iron ore.
Mithril bars require 4 Coal ores and 1 Mithril ore.
Adamant bars require 6 Coal ores and 1 Adamant ore.
Rune bars require 8 Coal ores and 1 Runite ore.
